Need real big help from the pros(you)!

Ever since sophomore year in high school, I've realized what I've wanted to be- a surgeon.

Currently, I'm a junior, and I'm very much aware and prepared for the rigorous future. I'm willing to sacrifice almost all of my time to exploit my abilities. I had shabby grades as a

freshmen and sophomore, but took the highest classes possible. This year, as a junior, I'm taking lot's of AP and science classes in order to prepare for pre med. This is where I need the help of all of you knowledgeable people.

What kind of extracurricular should I focus on in order to increase my chances to become accepted to a high, rigorous pre med school? Currently, I'm an avid soccer and chess player, but I was thinking, maybe something more involved with medicine? It may sound stupid, but what I mean is something along the lines of hospital volunteer, shadowing, things like that. I go to University visits and Career Nights, but I can't figure this out.

I need desperate help: What should I get involved in to increase my pre med acceptance chances?

All help is Greatly! appreciated.
