Need recommendation for my son

Just my personal experience by looking at neighbor kids I know.

University of Alabama Main campus is in Tuscaloosa and does indeed have an incredible engineering department, huge, diverse student population and all the school spirit you will ever want.

UAH is a much smaller campus in north Alabama. Not much school spirit, but set in a Research Area that boasts large number of employers for science and engineering students to get hired for research and internships. UAH has a great reputation for its engineering and computer science departments.

Both schools are worth visiting. Both schools are actively recruiting OOS students. The schools offer very different atmospheres, so a student might love one and hate the other.

“Beautiful new and state of the art engineering complex…over 1 million square feet of amazing STEM facilities.”

Are you mentioning one in Huntsville or Main Campus? Thanks.

^ That would be the Bama main campus. Her son attended.

+1 to Bama, especially for undergrad engineering. The engineering school is packed with scholarship students and the dorms are gorgeous. There is a strong emphasis on teaching rather than research. You must visit, only a few hours from Atlanta. I’d make it his safety if he isn’t admitted to GT.

The sports environment is absolutely amazing, and the facilities available to students are outstanding.
