Need safeties, matches, and reaches.

Hi,

I've officially begun my college search! I want a University in California (preferably SoCal) with a good psychology and/or art program and preferably no core curriculum. Here are my stats. I'm a Sophomore:

[ul]
[]GPA: 3.8 this year.
[]PSAT: 220
[]Going to take: SAT II US History, Spanish with Listening, and maybe Chemistry.
[]My school doesn't have any AP courses.
[]Ethnicity: Hispanic
[]Extracurriculars:
[ol]
[]I work at a Teen Crisis Hotline - includes motivational speaking at other schools (minimum 5 hours a week)
[]Intensive Art Classes
[li]Going to work at a retail store next school year[/li][/ul]
[/ol]

I plan on majoring in Psychology, as well as taking a few art classes along the way. I don't feel like a core curriculum could benefit me. :/ Any ideas?

Thanks so much!!

You seem to have pretty definite criteria- do a little research. If you’re considering LACs (which usually just have gen ed reqs), look at the Claremont Colleges. Pitzer, Scripps (if you’re female) and Occidental are possible safeties. Decent shot at Stanford and Pomona.
