need safeties

looking at my info below, can i consider university of illinois at urbana champaign a solid safety? I'm in-state. Also, what other suggestions do you guys have? I'm looking for solid programs in the sciences and perhaps business. I would like to have at least 2 safeties, feel a bit more comfortable with this whole process.

Grades/Rank/Tests

will take next year: Spanish, English Lit, Biology, Stat, Gov, Macro

EC/ Awards

Science Oly 10 club got cancelled this year: regional medals 3rd
Chamber Orchestra 9-12: Violin; quartet got selected to go to a state symposium
JV tennis captain 10
Varsity Tennis
Hospital Internship 11 (~70ish hours)
nursing home volunteer 9-12 ~120 hours (founded a music program b/c they didn't have any)
NHS 11-12
WYSE 11-12
Nominated for NCTE writing, will hear final result this fall.

Got an internship at Mass Gen this year. Will rack up over 500 hours of research. So, I'm hoping to complete a research for Siemens or Intel.

suggestion? thanks in advance :)

Sure can if you get that app in early. They are rolling in admissions so you will be 100% there when you get there answer. Then you can do what you want, reach for the sky in terms of reaches.

thanks :)

but any other safety suggestions? To calm my 'just-in-case-i-don't-get-in' side.

I think you are just fine. If you don't like the school, maybe a look at UMIch, again rolling and again a good safety if get the app in early, with your stats. Most of the flagship state schools operate on a rolling basis, so you can go to town on that without affecting any SCEA or ED choices from your reach list.

okay, great. thanks.
I didn't think I could consider UMich a safety. Glad to hear

Agree with cpt, get those applications in early to UM and UIUC early and you'll get answers quickly enough to make them safeties. My guess is that you'll be in the running for some merit money from UM.
