There is no secret to it other than study your butt off. This isn’t to mean that you shouldn’t socialize on weekends, but it does mean that you should put your work and studies first before everything else. It’s also worth it to befriend your teachers (not exactly kiss up) and ask a lot of questions in class; this shows that you actively participate and appreciate and care about the class.

And yes, definitely stay off CC; I think this is what may end up screwing up my summer class.

ArtofMind…seriously buddy, take a break from CC. Go read a book, go outside, go running…something. People keep trying to tell you: those on CC are often overachievers. In fact, most of America is just like you. Don’t be depressed.

kiss the teachers @$$. seriously, that changed a few of my Bs to As. Also, dont think that jusst because you have and 87 and its 3 weeks from the end of the grading period that you cannot bring that grade up to an A.

like jk91 said really befriend your teachers. This helps you a lot later when teachers round your grade. They also tend to be lenient and trusting. Also, get to know friends that usually get straight A’s. They will help a lot when talking about which teachers to get, homework help, etc… Budget your time and prioritize. Studying A LOT does not always mean good straight A’s; you have to know what to study and when to study it.

Seriously I agree that you should be friendly towards your teacher…definitely in subjects like English and History where grading on essays and such tends to be more subjective.

I antagonized my math teacher to death this year (by writing Sin30 =4 and Chuck norris/Gandalf the Gray and a bunch of other ridiculous **** for my test answers; etc) but I got correct answers in an objective subject (math) so she couldn’t really do anything other than scowl. Not too of a good idea.

but really ace your tests. That’s pretty much at least B+ ish guaranteed… hw tends to be much trivial so I don’t do it often but if you ace tests, you pwn.

i think ur probably depressed. sometimes i get depressed and dont feel like studying and get really bad scores.
just like … be not depressed you know. u should have some kind of motivation.

Do all of the homework no matter how stupid it seems to you, ever. Not doing your homework seems offensive to teachers, ESPECIALLY the new ones

Smile and be friendly, if it is a history class, keep up with current events, and talk with your teacher about them, if it is a science class, be really interested and ask you teachers questions. Even if you have no questions and are solid on the material, sci teachers especially like to “teach” kids, so ask some questions, and maybe get some one on one time to “clarify” things. With english class, always bring a new and fun perspective to class discussions.

Bring random food to all your classes atleast once. This should be a random day, not a birthday or other special day, unless it is Pi day for math. Bake cookies or something, and just bring them in one day, teachers love this because they think you “care”

Smile alot, alot, and laugh at their jokes

Above all else, be submissive. Every teacher loves to “dominate” their class, and they are all obsessed with following the rules. Follow the rules, and submit to their authority.

play filthy and dirty like this girl did to one my friends when running for french national honor society.

this girl went up to the french national honor society adviser and told her that her ‘rival’ (my friend) hardly showed up on meetings and never really contributed, and because the adviser is forgetful, she believed it and didn’t let my friend become president.

similar in class, stage ways to blame people for cheating, especially the smart ones in class

(haha, no im just kidding, that’d be terrible ><)
