Need school suggestions

Hi everyone,
I am an international student and I am applying to colleges in the US too.

I have an amazing and complicated life story, a very challenging curriculum and a demanding class choice.

My SAT is 1440 (CR:390 M:660 W:390)
My SAT Subject Tests are (Math L1: 690, Math L2: 700, Physics: 580)
TOEFL: 89
My Activities Are:
Science&Technology Club membership
Mechatronics Club membership
Class Body Representative
Archer
I can sing well
I also made a research project with a good university, and I want to develop my project in college.

I wrote some awesome essays (Well, I think so)

The thing is that classes in my country are harder than the AP classes and a 55%-60% GPA is considered as national average (Passing grade is 50%). I had a lot of problems, a legal guardian and a family death (Mother) through high school. That’s why my GPA is 66% but i guess by the end of this year, since my grades are good and I feel better it might get as high as 70%.
I don’t even want to talk about my CR and W on SAT, they’re bad because I didn’t grow up speaking or reading English or getting prepared for SAT for years. Of course, you need progress to learn a language.

I am applying to top schools(Ivy schools, MIT, NYU, UCI, UCSC, UCR, Caltech, Gatech, Stanford) because I read stories about some low scored people made it in, but to be realistic since my chances are really low, I need safety schools.

Any school suggestions? (I want to major in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics or electromechanical engineering.)

I also would be glad if you could tell me my chances to those top schools.

Thank you very much.

OP, your SAT scores are not high enough for admission to any of the colleges on your list. Assuming you need financial aid to attend college, you aren’t going to find any college you can get admitted to affordable. You should explore college options in your home country.

I agree with @intparent that your SAT scores are no where near competitive for these schools. Plug your stats into the Supermatch feature to find schools to fit your stats. Unless you can bump your your scores significantly (1800-2300), the schools in your country are your best bet. To succeed in US colleges, you need good English speaking and writing skills which are not reflected in your SAT scores.

What if I said money is not a problem for me?

These schools still aren’t going to take you with those SAT scores. But plug your scores into the Supermatch, and you will find schools that will.

No chance at any of those schools.

Even if you are full pay, you still need to be a competitive applicant of which you are not with your SAT scores.
