Need serious suggestions to improve!

I took the SAT last month, and I need to improve my CR and Math.

CR - 560
Math - 540
Writing - 570

I'm taking it again in March...and I've done loads of prep courses (still am) like Kaplan and such. Any suggestions?

to me, classes are crap. taking practice tests (official and PR are the best) are way more important and they helped me greatly. my score went up 380 pts from my first diagnostic to the jan sat!

One simple point -- KAPLAN SUCKS!
I kept scoring above 2250 in their practice tests even though I never reached a 2250 in my actual SAT.
As for suggestions read this thread.

Thanks a lot! Yea, the only thing that Kaplan helped me with were the practice tests...so I got comfortable with the timing.

I checked out a test prep book at the library called Rocketreview. It's really straightforward and will help a lot if you want to score better on the essay.

The main way I studied was by taking lots of practice tests!

When you mean practice tests...you mean timed for the whole 4 hours, right?

If so...how many can I take-oh, I don't know- within the next three weeks? I'm taking my second test in March. =(

Thanks! I'm really glad I found this forum. It's good to know that there many people out there with great suggestions. =)

don't take practice tests unless you've finished studying first.
If you haven't finished studying, then there's no point of practice tests. You won't be able to know how much you are gonna get till you finish studying.

My mom made me take all 10 practice tests in the Official SAT book...not fun. I think it was excessive.

You can split a whole test into parts and you don't always have to take them timed. Some books teach you the topic and then give you practice problems- that's good too
