need some advice for my future

hi this is my first post here although i’ve been looking through forums for a couple days ^^

well im a rising sophomore… (i kno i hesitated to post because most other posters seem like juniors/seniors but i wanted to get started on this asap)

freshman year-
albegbra 2
history 9
biology honors
spanish 2 honors
english 9
bible (i go to a christian private school in MA)

sophomore year-
geometry honors
history 10 honors
chemistry honors
english honors
spanish 3 honors
bible

junior year-
pre-cal honors
ap american history
ap bio
ap american lit.
spanish 4
bible

senior year-
ap calc
ap european history
physics honors
ap british lit
ap spanish
bible

so that’s 7 ap courses i will take possibly more but not sure if i can fit more in my schedule
and my gpa freshman year (altho theres no point in saying it because almost everyone has a high gpa) was a 3.95 w/ 4.2ish uw
and i’m confident i’ll b in the top 5% of my class my whole highschool career

and i am korean… so i guess im minority?

im confident i can get an 800 on the math section of sat even right now
and im taking sat prep course for writing, and for verbal… i guess books and vocab memorization and mayb sum sat prep next year too

for the writing section i got a 670/800 on my first try on a practice test… i expected much worse… (in the 500’s haha) but i think i can manage to increase it to the 700’s

the problem for me is that im really weak on vocabulary, and i’m concerned about the verbal section… any solutions?

sat II’s i’ll probably do math Ic or IIc, chem, bio, writing, korean(if that helps at all lol)

anyways for the ACT… i hav a feeling i would do much better on that than the sat’s

for ec’s
nhs (is it from sophomore year or junior year? but the req is B- avg or something so it’s not a problem)
im on varsity soccer though im no superstar (i’ll b playing soccer all 4 years)
i play tennis for a hobby
im interested in biology a lot so i plan on doing something special involving it next summer
i hav a summer job…
and imgoing to korea soon so i’ll b volunteeering at a local hospital (well the largest one in korea)
i played piano for 7 years (does that even help? =/) im not sure if i shud quit piano or not…
i play in concert band (this for 4 years too)
NEML/AMC/AIME
publications (probably future editor-in-chief)
active member in church youth group (so including mission trips)

teacher recommendations or gc recommendations won’t b a problem because i maintiain good relationships with my teachers and plus its a small school =)

i find my ec’s my weakest area and i need some suggestions for things to do
i’m interested in biology a lot… especially evolutionary biology and biotechnology
so im trying to find a project i could do related to bio but i still feel like i need some more ec’s

presumably i’ll maintain my grades at this level because i’ve never slipped before and academics hav always been priority. and presuming that all these plans go well, what colleges should i look into? i was looking into emory and brown as a reach… and i like emory a lot… but brown i heard has excellent biology

wow i wrote a lot… sorry if it got too long… thanks in advance for the advice

<p>I am in 8th grade now. I am waiting for the results on my test to see if I can skip 8th grade. Currently my grandma is dieing with prostrait cancer in Athol r, Massachusetts. I'm not sure if I spelled Athol right. My mom is up there currently right now to help her. I'm just kind of mad about people on this cite ****ing me off! I'm not sure what classes I should take in HS if I make it!</p>

<p>futureAFA, perhaps if you didn't hijack other's threads, you might get more info. Try your own thread on either the cafe or the highschool forum. Women don't get prostate cancer.</p>

<p>So you want to major in bio?</p>

<p>Your list should be longer. Work on putting together a list of several reaches, matches, and safties. If you want people to suggest schools for that list, letting us know what parts of the country you would like to look at, what size school you would like, and anything else that seems important to you would help.</p>

<p>yeah i think i want to major in bio and possibly go to the medical fields maybe</p>

<p>i need suggestions for some reaches, matches, and safeties...
i would prefer newengland area or georgia/north carolina
school size.. a middle size.. not too big or not too small</p>

<p>i dont know many colleges yet and any help would b appreciated thanks =)</p>

<p>AP British Lit doesn't exist. Korean is a minority but it won't help because it's not an UNDER REPRESENTED minority, hence "URM."</p>

<p>AP Brit lit doesn't exist, but it's possible that the OP's school calls it that... I know my school focused on Brit lit a fair amount in the AP literature class.</p>

<p>^ But why? They only test you on English Lit.</p>

<p>They test you on comprehension, so it matters most that you learn to read deeply, whatever you read. </p>

<p>And... school can be weird like that. Meh.</p>
