Need some advice on safety schools

From Long Island, New York

I’m looking at schools like Boston University, Northeastern, Rochester, and Carnegie Mellon. Comparing my grades and such on Naviance they’re looking pretty slim. My current “safety schools” are Stony Brook University and that’s about it and I’m not even certain I can consider it a “safety” school. I’m really worried I won’t get into a decent college.

Currently going into junior year currently have 3.7 GPA [UW] don’t know weighted. Didn’t take SAT/ACT yet. Expecting ~1900 (Maybe 2000 with some luck).

Honors/AP:
Freshman: Geometry H, AP World

Sophomore: AlgII/Trig H, AP World

Junior: (expected): Pre-Calc H, APUSH, AP Psych, Human Anatomy H (Elective, but not sure so I included anyways)

Senior: (not really sure): AP Calc AB/BC (idk which one), AP comparative gov, and maybe an AP science.

EC’s would be my weakest point. I did only winter track freshman year and keyclub sophomore year. I’ll probably do both junior year. I do volunteer at a lab at SBU during this summer though and will probably get a part-time job next year when I can drive.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

A safety school is one for which you KNOW you’ll be accepted, your family can definitely AFFORD, and you would be HAPPY to attend. There will be some schools with merit aid based on your stats in here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/1678964-links-to-popular-threads-on-scholarships-and-lower-cost-colleges.html#latest

I’d apply to Stony Brook and perhaps one other SUNY that is a bit less selective.
