Just interested in what people will say.

I've been playing the violin for a while now, and I started playing the instrument after I had to quit the piano. However, I picked up the piano again and I've also started learning the guitar (mostly electric, some acoustic).

I find myself losing time. Would you ever try to learn (extensively) three instruments simultaneously (besides doing other stuff also)? If you already are, how is it?

I only play the acoustic Guitar, but my brother is learning both the electric guitar and piano at the same time. He loves both instrument, and he is pretty good. He says its not confusing cuz he knows all the notes on guitar and piano...he is like musically talented (wished I were). But my lil bro did tell me that guitar is much easier though. I just wished he sticked piano cuz he is really amazing on it. It just take work ethnic and time to excel at both for him.

do you need to learn them all extensively?
just actually learning the violin and piano while playing the guitar a bit for fun wouldn't be bad.
but actually studying three instruments at the same time sounds insane.
unless of course you're extremely musical and pick up on them really quickly.

I don't HAVE to learn them extensively, but the mechanics and theory behind the instruments are just so fascinating. Also, the music I want to end up playing on all three instruments is incredibly difficult. I can't stand listening to guitar/violin/piano music I really like and think that I'll never be able to play it.

Well I play violin exclusively myself but one of the people in my orchestra does violin/piano seriously. He practices three hours of each a day(homeschooled). It CAN be done with two(usually instrumentofyourchoice/piano combination) I don't know anyone personally who truly excels in three. That doesn't me you can't do it(don't give up hope!). But the fact of the matter is you're going to lose time.

Heck, I practice 2.5 hours a day and I still feel like I'm getting nowhere. -.-;

My personal opinion: stick with violin! I find (female) violinists so incredibly hot ... just thinking of them makes me drool :O
