Need some guidance in transfering

I ended highschool with an abysmal GPA and i am now a freshman at Umass lowell. I am currently taking 5 classes (writing, foreign policy, international relations, calc 1, micro econ 1)

I am trying to transfer into BU, michigan, wisconsin, or maybe trinity....should i be taking 6 classes to make my application more impressive? also, i took economics AP in highschool and got a C in the course...is it worth taking again (seems really easy)

Also, international relations is an intro class...should i swap it out wtih a higher level course? foreign policy is around level 400 and econ is around 200...the others are around level 150

Sorry to be a pain, just really confused about what i need to do to transfer.

From what I have heard, it’s better to take slightly less classes and make sure you will do well in them, rather than take more and not do as well.

bump-need advice~!

if this is your first fall, you should take 12u just to see how you have a feel for it, so you know how to organise your time. 16u would be the max i’d recommend, especially since you got a C on econ in HS.

I agree do not take too many, take less units and do very well to boost your gpa, those are really good schools, Good luck to ya

any more advice? classes are going great so far…
