major: undeclared-physical sciences
college: warren
1)phys20a is full for both sections even before freshmen-enrollment on the 25th. does this mean that i might as well not try to get into it for my august26th enrollment time and just go for another GE class?
2)also, i'm exempt from chem6a-c - should i take chem6bh (for credit) in winter like my advisor recommended or should i just jump straight to upper-division classes (chem140a)?
3)how long does it take to get from one side of campus to the other?
4)i have my classes set in my class-planner on the UCSD site, but what if one of these classes fills up and i can't take it anymore? is there a way to put in "backup" classes in my schedule in case one of them fills up? i'm really confused as to what i should do in case something doesn't go according to plan at my enrollment time.
5)is the honors program @ warren worthwhile to stay in? there don't seem to be any benefits - you don't get priority registration for classes or anything

3) From ERC to Sixth (furthest points diagonally) it takes about 20-25 minutes. About the same from the end of Warren to Revelle, the other diagonals.

This map can help you figure out how far apart your classes are (walking distance): CampusMap

4) You can make multiple class planners, and label them with different numbers. My first quarter I think I had 9 different options haha.

1) Not exactly sure but keep checking since spots can open up at any given time.

2) You could I guess, however you will be competing with sophomores and juniors for the A.

5) Looks good for grad school or professional schools. Stay in it.

Just don’t let your gpa suffer though as a result. For most grad/professional schools it’s a numbers game, so a non-honors student with a higher gpa still likely has the advantage (other factors aside).

10% of the class drops. Figure from there.

Just jump to Chem140A if you’re not premed. If you are…I’m at a loss, I don’t know. I just repeated the series.

15 minutes

Realize that those enrollment planners are just that. Planners. They don’t enroll for you automatically. You can make several different calendars and see which one will work out when you actually enroll.

I heard there are informative seminars, but as for classes, just do what you feel like. Being part of the honors program isn’t really going to help you out for grad/professional school. Anything can be labeled as honors after you get to a certain point and the whole idea becoems pointless.
