Are there any liberal arts colleges that offer very good business programs?

can someone offer me some help, please...........

The only ones I know of are Washington and Lee, Bucknell, University of Richmond, and Ithaca.

However, there are many smaller business colleges that may be of great interest to you, such as Babson College and Bentley College that may be a greater interest to you.

You could say these were LAC, but they aren't b/c they focus entirely on business, economics, and policy. But outside of the classroom, many Business Colleges do have the evironment that you are looking for in a liberal arts college.

thanks, but out of these, does any of them have a good program for finance?

You want a good finance program? Well are you looking to be an investment banker or want to study finance before going to grad school? What is recommended depends on what you want do with your degree after college...what field or career?

study finance before going to grad school

This is where I need help from the other CCers,

but I'd say the best finance you'll find at LACs are:
Washington & Lee
Trinity University
University of Richmond
Lafayette College
Providence College

The only program that is widely recognized of those above, is Washington & Lee, and to a lesser extent, Trinity, which does offer good finance.

Just for last word of advice, the best finance programs are at larger universities, for the most part, and you are sort of limited by looking only at liberal arts college. That being said, there are a handful of great programs though at smaller institutions (business schools, small universities, etc.).

IF you're open to finance programs at smaller schools in general, which I do ask you to open your mind to, I would recommend that you look at the following schools:

Babson College
Wake Forest
Villanova
Washington & Lee
Bentley College
Lehigh University
St. Joseph's University (PA)
Santa Clara University

You might look at Bryant or Rider for safety schools, both good financing programs.

thanks for the post

can u name some bigger schools with good finance departments?

Chapman University is a great business school, as is Emerson! :)

do i have a good shot at Wake Forest if i have around 2040 SAT? How is their finance program by the way?

i think claremont mckenna in the claremont schools in souther california is supposed to have a good business dept, good thing is that its in a 5 college consortium so you can crossregister at the other colleges (pomona, scripps, harvey mudd, pitzer)

NF318 if you want a school for a good undergraduate business program I would suggest Bowdoin College. Bowdoin's economics department is superb and students rave about the professors. The other great thing about Bowdoin is that you truly get to know professors well and they are extremely approachable.. Also if you are iffy about you SAT score, you do not have to submit your score (which could help you in getting admitted). My last point, is that from alumni that I have spoken to most are able a) to secure jobs on wall street or b) persuing their MBAs at top graduate schools (i.e. Harvard, Dartmouth, Upenn, etc).
