Okay guys my first Time taking the sat was June 6. I walked out feeling confident. However, three weeks later, I checked my score and well, let’s just say I didn’t do to hot at all. I am shocked since I’m performing very well in school. But what I’m wanting to know is what is the absolute best way to improve my score and do you think it’s possible to improve by 200 points
Here’s my scores
Cr:410
Math:590
Writing:500
Please guys I seriously need some confidence I need to shoot up at least 200
Did you do all of the practice tests in the blue SAT study guide? You know, you can also get the 1st edition SAT study guide here if you run out of practice tests: http://www.amazon.com/Official-Study-Guide-First-College/dp/B004P8930G
There’s also the online SAT course. It has 10 more practice tests you can practice on as well. What i usually do to improve scores is to take one of the practice tests in the book without timing it, and get a feel for what kind of problems you usually miss. Then, you study the questions, and formulate a method to find the correct answer. I had to do this because the official study guide only provided answers; not the reasons behind the answer. After that, take a timed SAT and see how you do. You also may want to find patterns within the test. They ask certain types of questions, and if you acquire the method to solve a particular type of problem on the SAT, then your score should improve. You can also use SAT skills insight to know what kind of skills you’ll be needing for a certain score range.

Sorry if this stuff doesn’t help you any. I myself am having problems with the SAT as well. But I thought i’d just share the tactics that I use for the SAT.
