need some info about nyu

hii guys ... im interested in applying for nyu in the near future .. im only a sophomore .. but i wanted to noe some facts about nyu

what is the basic sat score required to be accepted?
what do they look at in terms of importance?
what will make me stick out in the applicant pool?

SAT score -- depends on the school. If you're looking at CAS, the average is something in the high 1300s out of 1600. If you're looking at Stern, the average is 1441/1660 (I know this one, haha). Steinhardt and Tisch have average scores slightly below CAS... not sure about Gallatin, etc. But in general, high 1300s, low 1400s out of 1600. (So somewhere between 1950 to 2100 or so for average scores out of 2300.)

What they look at -- well, from what I've seen, NYU tends to look at the essays more than other schools do, so even if your stats aren't perfect, it's all right. Leadership is a big thing too, I think. However, you do want your stats to be as good as they can get, because although NYU looks at the big picture, it does put some weight on stats too, the amount depending on the school.

Sticking out -- No idea. :D Honestly, I really don't think there's a magic ingredient to getting in. Also, it kind of depends on the school...

I would suggest that you take as many honor and AP courses as possible. they'll prepare you better for college. And keep your average to an A- or A to A+(preferably). That's what admissions officers say.
you also need good SATs cuz once you're in (if u apply and are admitted)... u'd want to get scholarships and financial aid and scholarships or programs such as the MLK Scholars or Stern Scholars tend to look at your scores. Good scores = more $$$!

yeah, definitely lots and lots of ap, ib, or honors. anyway, following info from usnews.com:
