I am most likely going to major in biology(probably premed but not 100% sure) what do you think about these schools for matches: Villanova,Emory, VanderBilt and Carnegie Mellon. Maybe even Duke and Dartmouth? Both are definitely reaches but I’d like to think I have somewhat of a chance however slim.</p>

<p>Well I’m pretty much torn between Rice and the Humec school at Cornell. Which of the two would I have a better chance of getting in to?</p>

<p>Duke is definetly a reach along with Dartmouth unless you have a hook that you did not say. Rice you should be in. UMiami will give you great merit money. DS had comparable stats (higher SAT) and they gave him 90K in merit for the 4 yrs. He didn’t take it. Villanova should be a match too.</p>

<p>Villanova would be a match but all the rest would be considered reaches in my opinion.</p>

<p>you seem to have a good class of safetys and you have some shot at your reaches.
try to incorporate some kind of theme, because I don’t know “what you’re about” by looking at your post. that will help.</p>

<p>I’d say all of the schools you listed are on-target in terms of where you placed them. For matches, I’d add USC and Vaderbilt (maybe) if you were interested. I’d say that your weak points are your curriculum (it is competitive for most places, but not uncommon/the best at your reaches) and your extracurriculars (many you’ve only done 11/12th, and that looks kind of like you just did them for colleges, so make sure you have some reason for why you started doing more things junior year, or don’t include all of them).</p>
