Need some more colleges. Help please.

I have pretty good EC's, 3.0 GPA (UW), and I got a 1210/1780 . 710 on math, 500 on reading, and 570 on writing.

My current list:
Clemson
Penn State
Miami Univ (OH)
James Madison
South Carolina
UConn

I like schools that are medium-large sized, school spirited, on the east coast, and have a football team

Thanks

UMass Amherst, UDelaware, Syracuse?

I visited UMass today and I did not like it one bit. I visited UDel and was iffy on it and I don’t think I’d get in. For Syracuse, I am not sure if I would get in and it is far too expensive. Thanks for the response though.

If Miami (OH) made your list, maybe also look at Ohio Univ. Also Indiana Univ.

any thoughts about possible majors?

let me know if you have any questions about Clemson! (I’m a student there)

Ohio and Indiana are really good suggestions, thanks. I’m going to look further into them.

As far as majors I am not really sure I would like to do something in sports but that’s just not going to happen so I think I am leaning towards business. Also, pierre, Clemson is my #1 I am hoping I get in.

Any more suggestions?

Maryland, West Virginia, would suggest Wake Forest, but it might be a reach.

If you want to combine sports and business, Ohio U has a well-regarded sports management program. [Ohio University College of Business](<a href=“Ohio University College of Business | Ohio University”>Ohio University College of Business | Ohio University)

@SLUMOM, Maryland? Isn’t that a bit out of reach? West Virginia, I cannot see myself going there not sure why. Wake Forest, way too out of reach haha I already have Penn State which is out of rech

How about NC State and East Carolina?

I haven’t heard too many positive things from either of those schools, momjr. Thanks though.

What about…

Virginia Tech (I would be there if I wasn’t accepted to Clemson)
University Of Georgia
University Of Alabama - Tuscaloosa
Indiana University
Florida State
University Of Tennessee

I visited Tech and hated it for some reason
Georgia - Seems like a reach
Alabama/Tennesse - Not my cup of tea
FSU/Indiana - I was looking into both before but I didn’t really know anything about either, I’ll look into both, thanks pierre

How about Mizzou.

UCONN has gotten pretty selective lately, 44% entering Freshmen in top 10% of HS Class, 83% in top 25%. Hope you get accepted! One of my kids is an alum of UCONN & so are my parents. It’s a great school.

Can you afford all those OOS schools? With your GPA I think a number of them are “reachy”. Do you have a safety?

Well I applied to all of them early and as long as I get into 1 that’d be fine because I would go to any of them. In the event of me getting denied from all 6, I have Ithaca, SUNY Cortland, and Alabama as back-ups because I’ll hear back before the regular admissions deadline is.

University of Maryland at Baltimore County might be a match
