Hey guys!
Ivy Day has come and gone, and I was rejected from Harvard (my dream) and Princeton.
I was accepted at Cornell (got a LL).
And I was waitlisted at all the rest, the most important to me of which are Brown and Yale.
I feel really disappointed, as I wanted better. Deep down, I know that I just mean Harvard, but it’s fine, I’m starting to accept that.
I know that this is the best for me, that whatever happens will be the best, but I do feel bad.
I’m currently between JHU and Cornell, but I feel that Cornell is better, as I plan to double major in Mechanical Engineering and Physics, and I’ve heard that Cornell is strong in science departments. Also, the setting of Cornell feels way better.
So, can you guys help me feel better by telling me why you think Cornell/JHU is good?
I am NOT sad about my Cornell acceptance. I am happy to get the chance to attend Cornell, but I wished for more.
Since the start of the application cycle, all I’ve been reading on here was HYP, which further gave me a feeling that Cornell isn’t as good, as I rarely see the name.
My intention of writing this post, other than venting off, is to look at the bright side, and maybe get an idea about how prestigious Cornell is, and what are its pros and cons (same for JHU, but I’m probably going with Cornell).
I apologize if I made it sound snobbish or pretentious, but I am speaking sincerely of my incomplete image of Cornell, and my unsuccessful dreams of attending Harvard.
I was under the impression that Cornell is considered the strongest of all the Ivy’s for engineering. It’s certainly higher in the USNWR rankings. Congratulations! Don’t worry, be happy!
