Need some tips, advice for resume and landing jobs after graduation!

I been in a pessimistic state for a while now. i was a mech engineer major for a while but switched due to the coarse load and my suffering gpa. it was also something i was pushed into, didn’t really enjoy it as much as i thought i would.

i ended up switching to economics w/ a minor in business administration. my major GPA is a 3.3 but my cumulative is a measly 2.6 due to some of the engineering courses. i’m a senior currently at USC in columbia, SC and have 1 more semester in fall. The only worthy work experience i have is 2 summer internships at an engineering manufacturing firm during my engineering years which is irrelevant now to my current major. I have been trying to attain an intern or some relevant job for the summer but its no easy task. I know my chances are slim w/ my overall gpa, considering how most prestigious places require at least a 3.0. I am going to keep trying though for the fall semester as well.

Some of my questions are:

 1. should i mention that i was an engineering major or interned as an engineering major on my resume? Currently, i have it unmentioned and just stated that i interned at this firm.

when i go to an interview, again should i mention about my previous major or wait till they ask for my overall gpa and then go into details?

What are some tips/advice on how to better my chances for jobs in the future?

any other thoughts/opinions will be appreciated

Yes, include the engineering internship on the resume. When they ask about it explain that you were in engineer but switched due to lack of interest.

No, don’t volunteer information you don’t want them to know. If they ask, tell them the whole story. Many companies will not ask at all.

Target companies that you think will appreciate the engineering exposure; logistics and planners at manufacturing companies for example.
