I am international student, and currently deciding my 'RD list' with my GC.

I cannot make my mind up between three of schools I've mentioned above - Carleton, Notre Dame, and UVa - I know three are significantly different, (Mid-west Large univ, Southern Public, and Minnesota LAC) but based on the websites and catalogs they've sent to me, I got only superficial image of three schools - I want to major in Math or Econ - (Business major is not a bad choice, but I wonder if I have to do it in undergraduate - ) and want to be an ibanker after graduate

I got 2150 on SAT (670/800/680) and have a good SAT IIs, good ECs (at least I think), but mediocre essays - since English is my second Language I can never satisfy with my Eng.writings that represents my thoughts. People say chances are good, but if you don't agree, please let me know - and esp.if you know much about those universities- which would you suggest? I want to apply only one or two of them - (don't need FA)

Where are you from?

I can't speak about Notre Dame or Carlton, but I can perhaps offer some help re. UVa since I'm an alumnus. I know that Parke Muth who's the UVa admissions dean who oversees international admissions often travels around the world to meet w/ prospective international students. I would suggest you send him an email: ppm@virginia.edu. You can ask him if and when he's planning to be in your part of the world. FYI, it might take him a while to reply back since he literally gets hundreds of emails a week, but he'll get back to you.

Also, check out this site. It lists a number of UVa "international student ambassadors" who are international students currently at the University of Virginia. They'll be able to easily relate to your situation and can answer many of your questions.

Thanks for comment - I'm from Korea and actually met him once last year - but since I was sophomore than, I didn't pay much attention to what college people said - If there's anyone who knows much about those schools and math/econ/business, I'd appreciate your comments :)

I had a really strong suspicion that you would be Korean since the 2 largest groups of international students at UVa are from South Korea and Turkey.

Here, click to his link. It lists some Korean international students who are willing to answer prospective students' questions. Youjin, Peter and Jihae are studying economics. Sang Ki is studying engineering, and NaRang is trying to study undergrad business. They'll be able to give you some insight into UVA's programs.
