Looking to transfer to a well-ranked out of state school (business school) in fall of '08. Need some suggestions.

Forgot to mention I have made one C in Literature

I've strongly considered IU. You think I have a decent shot at being admitted?

Sure. You have a strong academic record. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Good luck!

Thanks for the help. Any other suggestions?

I'll bump this one more time.

Pick 5 or 6 schools that you WANT to attend. I would stay away from the Ivy League and some of the better known elites. Assuming you want to stay midwest there are several excellent schools to choose from, with strong business programs. Look in Ohio, Missouri, Illinois and perhaps Indiana and Wisconsin.

Look STRONGLY at the employment figures for those college's grads...and the "connections" they have, how many employers interview on campus and so forth.

And don't forget Notre Dame. Their business college is HIGHLY regarded. You never know.

Good Luck.

I don't really have a desire to stay around here. In fact the further away the better. haha. but yea I'll give those schools a look.

Is admission tough there?

^ Super competitive.

Does public or private school matter?
What location do you prefer?
What type of job are you aiming for?

All the top undergrad business programs are going to be competitive for admission.

Does public or private school matter? No
What location do you prefer? Anywhere really
What type of job are you aiming for? Looking at Corporate finance possibly

The Big 10 schools are good, and likely easier to transfer into.
You may also want to try University of Arizona or Arizona State if you like hot, dry weather.

My suggestion is to pick 5 you like. Check out the transfer requirements. As a backup, maybe you could apply to University of Arkansas (Walton). Learn from Wal-Mart...haha. ;)

Thanks. Yea I don't like heat much but will probably check Arizona out. I'll probably end up applying to a couple reach schools (NYU, UNC), mid-level (Indiana U, Ohio State) and then some in case I am rejected by those (U of Washington-Seattle, Penn State)

^ Sounds like a plan. Good luck!

^ Hey, at least University of Arizona in Tucson is a dry heat compared to what you're used to. Beautiful in the fall, winter and spring when you're going to classes.

Thanks for the help
