Need to decide between Econ and Poli Sci

I am a junior in college who needs to decide between two majors. Econ and Poli Sci. I don’t have enough time to double major. I am very interested in the things I am learning in Political science, but I worry about job prospects after college. I don’t want to go to law school, I know that much. I fear leaving college with only a BA in something as common as Poli Sci. My dream job is working as a political analyst at a government agency like the FBI or CIA, but I recognize those jobs are few and far between. And the private sector is much more accessible in terms of finding jobs. That’s where I see Econ coming in use a lot more.

I am at a crossroads here in terms of my future, and any input would be appreciated.

I loved both Econ & Poli Sci, and chose to major in Poli Sci because it was easier, and I was planning to go to law school. I was cautioned by an Econ professor that it was a better major, and I would make far more money majoring in Econ and going into a business career than majoring in Poli Sci and going to law school.

It is now 30 years later, and I realize that he was right and I was wrong. Good luck to you.
