Need to drastically improve my score

I don't want to show desperation in saying that I need to increase my score drastically, but I'm writing this with candid honesty, hoping that you guys can give some insight regarding my problem. I'm a high school senior looking to apply in Ivy league schools. Having taken the PSAT once and the SAT twice, I have a better understanding of the test now.

My PSAT scores (October, 2010)
Maths - 80
Writing - 77
Critical Reading - 75

I feel this was a good score; I had, however, taken a practice PSAT before it, in my sophomore year (results weren't encouraging: 178)

My first attempt (January, 2011) scores:
Maths - 710
Writing - 620
Critical Reading - 570

I jumped into this one without any preparation whatsoever, and as my score reflects, I took a big blow. Thereafter, I decided to prepare for the SAT; I did so by doing practice test—four, to be exact. I also felt I should revise some grammar that I had taken for granted, considering English had been the medium instruction for me since I started studying. For those curious, I'm an Indian studying in a small Christian American high school in a Southeast Asian country. Back to the topic: in the practice tests (BB), I was consistently scoring 720 above in each section, under timed conditions. I retook the SAT in October, 2011, and following are the results:

Maths - 790
Writing - 660
Critical Reading - 590 ( I have a hard time believing it, to be honest)

I have, therefore, decided not to ED. My current score is bothering me, and I feel it doesn't do justice to my academic potential—I would like to rectify that.

Please, tell me how can I increase my respective scores for CR and Writing? I'm not an avid reader; I do, however, read a lot of articles regarding sports, politics, and current affairs.

Advice, criticism, etc are welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Thanks
