im in my exhaustive college search
just wondering if people would give me some suggestions
im looking for an intelectual college, where kids are actually interested in learning and might be a little quirky (but not over the top)
also i dont wanna go somewhere where a social life is binge drinking and getting high at frat parties
any suggestions would be great!

You should look into Rice.

Smith College

University of Chicago, Wesleyan, Brown, Rice, University of Rochester, Swarthmore, Reed, and Cornell come to mind immediately. Many additional LACs fit- definitely Goucher.

I would say… University of Chicago, Swarthmore College, Haverford College, and Rice University are the first four that come to mind for me.

I would also suggest that you look at… Vassar College, Wesleyan University, Bard College, Goucher College, Carnegie Mellon University (some frats, but nothing too big), Carleton College, Macalester College, Princeton University, Tufts University (a few frats, but not much), Oberlin College, and Brandeis University. If you’re a girl, Smith College, Wellesley College, Bryn Mawr College, and Mount Holyoke College are a few more schools to look into.

As an aside… I would urge you to look into Reed a bit more… I only know a few people at Reed, but all of them happen to enjoy dabbling in drugs.

I second Vassar, Wesleyan, Bard, Goucher, Brown, and Oberlin. Would add Skidmore and Kenyon (especially if you’re into writing) to that list.

Look at LACs

You’ve pretty much described Bard, that is if you’re really being honest about those qualities. You might need to bone up on your spelling and punctuation though; they love, and value, good writing at Bard.

bard kids are kinda over-the-top quirky, haha

I know a couple of them very well. One’s my daughter. They’re no more over-the-top than many schools. I think the legend of Bard is a bit overstated. Steely Dan no longer go there. Don’t dismiss it without trying it; if it appeals to you, that is.

yeah, I was just joking. I’m actually applying there EA.

all of the above are good suggestions. you should definitely visit some.
