My daughter has generally good grades and SAT scores, except for her math SAT score (she plans to take the SATs one more time). She plans to apply to several SAT-optional schools, in which case she will probably include her SAT IIs but (unless her math score improves) not her SATs. She will also apply to several SAT-required schools.

Is it mandatory to include the SATs she has taken in the Common App, or can we just send the super-scored SAT scores later to the schools that need them? Or do the SAT-optional schools ignore the SATs even if they see them on the common app so it doesn't matter?

The common app is designed to include things that colleges require for admission but you need not fill in something like test scores that a particular college does not require. For colleges that require you to report all SAT scores, you probably should put the scores you have in the application. For colleges that are score optional, you can choose not to report scores on the common application (make an alternate). You can then later send offical SAT scores through the College Board if you want.
