I’m a junior in high school and I’m just starting my second semester and i was just wondering how well I’m doing in high school so far and what my chances are for above level (not ivy) universities. My schedule this year is AP European History, AP US History, AP Statistics, PreCalc honors, AP environmental science, and I took ENC 1101 at my local college. I got A’s in all of these classes this last semester and my GPA is now 3.69. I’m pretty involved being in 6 different clubs and an officer in 2 of them. Sophomore year I took 1 AP class (world history) and got an A and the only B I had sopmore year is Chemisty Honors, only bad thing is freshmen year I took a C in AP human geo just one semester. How am I looking so far?
IMHO for “above level (not ivy) universities”, you appear to be solidly on track. You have a rather difficult course load, so my one main concern is not to get yourself stretched too thin. However, if you are getting an unweighted 3.69, meaning mostly A’s with only a few B’s, then you are doing well.
I wouldn’t worry too much about one C in freshman year. Your freshman year will matter a lot less than sophomore and junior years.
