need to know

I originally got into UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UC Irvine as a freshman during high school. However, I did not go to any of these schools, and now I would like to transfer into one of these three. What affect, if any, will this have on transfer admissions?

eh...they already accepted you when you were in 9th grade???!!

hahahaha

she was accepted as an incoming freshmen

the previous admission will have no effect, unless you use it to make some kind of a point in your personal statement

Ahh yeah don't worry...If you were able to get in as a freshmen, you should be able to get in as a transfer. Just maintain the same grades + passions + whatnot. ha

call them and see if they kept your first application... you'll still have to re-apply, but having that other application there is probably helpful (i.e. you don't have to re-send SAT scores, they will probably look at it and see your old recs and stuff, etc.).

if they didn't - make sure you include a letter of explanation w/the app, stating that you got in and also why you didn't go there the first time.

i was in a similar position - and the school had my old application, so i just made it very clear in my "why this school" essay why i didn't just go there the year before.

good luck! :)
