I am planning to go UC riverside this fall,
but due to some family issue I have to go back to my country and stay there from possibly half year to one year then come back and continue my study
is it possible to still take the offer but hold the school work for a year?
Because this is my 2nd time of applying for transfer, I dont really think reapplying the third time is going to be a good option.

Thank you!

I doubt they’d let you take a one-year leave, especially when you haven’t taken any classes there yet. Personally, I would just reapply next year.

If you want a definite answer, I suggest you call them and find out.

Apparently no, but you can always enroll in a class or two and then drop it.

Hi,

You could always try and get a deferral. I have a good friend who got one from UCLA for a year and will be starting this fall instead. I have no idea what she told them but it must not have been something she had to prove because she didn’t have any medical/emergency issues. She was just overwhelmed.

Hope it works out for you!

I was going to say the same thing as IndieRockNRoll. I know UC Davis and Berkeley give you the option of deferring for a year. However, one of the conditions of your deferral will be that you cannot attend another school during that period.

Thank you for all of your answers its very helpful.
Also anyone know is there distance learning class offer for UCriverside like the ones in community college that you can take it through online?
