Need to pull myself out of this

Hey guys I'm in a bit of trouble so I figured I should come here and ask for some advice.

I know there are plenty of threads like these but I really want some personal advice.

I am a Freshman and my first semester was not too good.
Bio- C+
Chem- B
Art requirement- B+
English- B+
Calc 1- A-
Overall: 3.1

I thought this would be my wake up call, but unfortunately second semester has gone far worse.
Bio2- currently a C, aiming for a B with the final
Chem- currently a D, aiming for a B with a test and a final left
Psych- most likely A-/A
Lit- B+/A-
Calc2- aiming for a B.

So assuming I get the "dream" grades, I should get a similar grade to first semester's. If however, I get anything short, I'm bound to see a 2.5.

I have started studying for my final material already, but if i end up with a 2.7 my entire freshman year, how bad is it? I know it's not THE WORST freshman gpa, but how worried should I be?

Encouragements are fine, but I want to hear the cold truth. I need something that I can always keep in the back of my mind...something that can scare me into actually studying.

You know the truth…the truth is forget wasting your time here, start working much harder…

Cold hard truth? The material gets MUCH more specific from here. Whether that’s good or bad to you is up to you. But the material just becomes SO MUCH MORE SPECIFIC and dense.

You need to seriously shake off your poor study habits or whatever that’s keeping you from those A/A-'s. Med school GPA average is increasing gradually every year.

Why are you taking 5 classes a semester? It sounds like you have too much on your plate.

PS Are you at Colgate University?
