need to send SAT scores again?

I'm actually a student, but the SAT boards are just crazy right now so I thought I might ask parents for some insight?

I am taking the SAT II's tomorrow, but I previously sent the SAT I to several schools. Does collegeboard automatically send my new SAT II scores to those colleges, or do I need to list them down as recipients again?

They need to be listed again.

My understanding is that once you send scores to any college, all future scores go to those too, automatically. Otherwise, you would have to pay extra to send 3 sets of scores to the same school.

I think quiltguru is correct, you need to submit your list of schools each time.

I just called them. "Only those scores that are viewable at the time you request the score report be sent are sent." For ex. D takes SAT in May. Gets scores -likes scores-sends scores. Then takes the June test-those scores are NOT automatically sent to the schools receiving the first set of scores. You have to pay each time.

From the CB site itself (emphasis added):

"View Score Recipients
Here you can view your current SAT scores together with previous scores.

In addition, you can view a history of your scores and see where you sent your SAT scores.

Please note the following:
• We send a cumulative report of all scores. You cannot send only your latest or highest scores, or separate scores for critical reasoning, writing, or math, or only SAT Reasoning Test or only SAT Subject Tests scores.
• Only score reports from completed and scored tests will be sent to the colleges and scholarship programs you select. Scores from future tests for which you registered, but have not yet completed, will not be included."

So if you like the first set-by all means send them. If the second test adds nothing positive , those first schools never see them. Just a thought.

To the OP, yes, you must send them again. All the previous posters were correct except Pyewacket (sorry Pye).

While this situation is not the same as the one originally posted, there is another situation that the College Board online explanation does not really address. That is, for students who already took a test but the tests are not yet scored or the scores are not yet released anyway, if you request score reports after the test date (and did not upon registering) and if you have previous scores from previous dates, will these reports wait to include the scores on the most recent test even if they are not yet available. For instance, I have a student client who took the test for the second time in early Nov. and did not request score reports upon registering (did not yet have a college list!) and then several days after taking the test, once his list of schools was made, wanted to order score reports to be sent and I looked it up on the website and read what Curm has now posted as well, but this situation is not covered in the statement: "Scores from future tests for which you registered, but have not yet completed, will not be included." because his test was completed but not yet scored. I was worried that if he ordered the score reports between the last test date and before the Nov. 21 score release date, that the College Board would only send his previous scores and not wait for the Nov. ones which were not yet scored, even though the test was completed. I called and asked and they said you could order the scores during this time and they WOULD include the Nov. scores (which implies that they hold up the score reports until those scores can be added to previous scores). However, I'd be nervous that how do they tell the difference and not just send score reports for all his previous scores that exist and know to wait for more scores to come? I guess they have a way but I'd feel better in waiting until Monday when his scores come out though they wanna send them before then but I can't see the harm in waiting as it takes 2-3 weeks for scores to go to college which makes his deadlines just fine. Any thoughts? I guess they could be ordered now since the person answering the phone said so. Their blurb online does not address this however.

Susan, the guy I talked to said that if you can't see them online, they don't send them. I'd call again or wait as I asked specifically about May and June testing. The student in most cases certainly would have been registered for the second test at the time the test scores from the first test became available for sending. He responded as I posted , "only those scores viewable at the time you request the score report....". That seems to conflict with what you were told. I'd check.

Agree with Mudge. This is precisely what we were told by CB. If you send scores before a test is scored, only those score results available at the time of the request are sent....meaning that you will have to pay again to send the new scores once they are available on-line. Not worth the extra bucks. If there is a chance the new scores may be better than the old, it's best to wait.

The weird part was that I explained this exact thing to College Board....asking if score reports were ordered after the Nov. test date but before they were scored, would the score reports include the Nov. scores or just the old scores and she said they'd include the Nov. ones but it really had me doubtful how they would know to hold the reports. The particular parent keeps asking me if she should order them now and my feeling is if it were me, I'd wait until Monday or after (when scores come out). What can I say....some are persistant despite advice ;). I really find the College Board answer to still have me doubtful and now that you guys posted what you did in response, your gut is the same as mine (well, I ain't measuring our guts...lol). I'll tell this parent again, though I'm not sure it will matter (which would be a shame as they paid for a private SAT tutor too!).
