Need Transfer Advice!!! Chances?

I am a freshman at Eugene Lang at the New School. I am looking to transfer but my first term grades are a little iffy right now. I'm getting 1-2 A's a B and a B/C. I already wrote my common app essay and its very good, personal, compelling..all that jazz. (I had my old guidance counselor help me edit it) I also made it a point to let them know my circumstances, in that I am working as a paralegal and helping to take care of my two brothers. (didn't go to my first choice since my stepfather left) Besides that I am involved in a few things. And also have a photography portfolio and a published book of poems to send. I graduated in the top 10 from hs and had a 3.8m My SATs are decent only 1200 (reading and math)

Two questions:

What are my chances of getting into...
Smith [can get an alum rec]
Wesleyan
Sarah Lawrence [can get an alum rec]
Brown
Bard [can get an alum rec]

I am also lightly considering...(Pomona, UC-Berkley, Stanford, Franklin and Marshall, GWU)

And do you suggest I take my SATs over to give me a better chance? I wasn't really worried about them before since the school my heart was set on was SAT optional.

Thanks!!!

since you’re working, i’m going to guess you need financial aid. i have a friend who just transferred to smith and they gave her an amazing FA package, so definitely keep that at the top of your list. brown isn’t need-blind for transfers and your recommendations are weighted heavily because of the limited amount of writing samples they want. i’m not sure about the others, but good luck!

If cost is a concern, be aware that:

Brown is need-aware for transfer admissions; and if accepted, they have limited FA for transfers:

[Brown Admission: Transfer Students](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University)

https://financialaid.brown.edu/Cmx_Content.aspx?cpId=56

If you are not a CA resident, OOS COA is about 50k/yr for UCB and they don’t give FA to OOS students.

As a soph applicant, your HS record (gpa and rigor of coursework) and test scores will be weighted more than your college record since you will only have completed 1 sem of coursework.
