I couldn't get why choice C was incorrect for Q 3 page 839.

could any1 explain pls?

ThanQ =]

Ruby, may I recommend to be more explicit in writing your question, and most importantly, to leave the “dewdspeak” out of this forum.

Trust me, it does not take much longer to write full words as opposed to "ur, pls, any1, or other moronic expressions such as ThanQ.

Why would anyone spend time helping if you do not think it is worth spending a few seconds on posting a clear message.

Page 839 of what?

Xiggi, I am sorry if writing in that way is not preferable around here and I’ll take your recommendation as an (advice) to help me improve my writing as I am taking the SAT for the first time in a month from now.

here is a better version of what was written in post #1 if it will work:

I couldn’t get why choice C was incorrect for Question 3 page 839 of the Blue Book.

could anyone explain please?

Thank you =] *

Silverturtle, Page 839 of the Blue Book. Sorry I just forgot to mention what the book was =</p>

Circumference = C = 2pir
Let C1 = Circumference of the circle with center A
Let C2 = Circumference of the circle with center C

C1 = 2C2 (as given in the problem)
2pir1 = 4pir2
r1=2r2

one radius is 2x the other radius…

AC = 6 = r1 + r2 (sum of both radii)

4 and 2 add up to 6 and one is 2x the other

answer is (B) 2, not (C) 4 because the question is asking for the length of the line segment that is the radius of the circle with a smaller circumference
