Need urgent help in SSAT Math!

I will be taking the SSAT two weeks from now. I did Kaplan’s practice test and got a calamitous math score:
Reading: 94th percentile
Verbal: 92nd percentile
Math: 22nd percentile
I have only two weeks to study! I focused so much on verbal and on getting a better vocabulary, that I completely forgot about math! Do you guys have any tips for quantitative? Good websites to practice, strategies, time management (since I had to skip 5 questions because I ran out of time during the test) etc so I can raise my score at least a scanty? Thanks, need urgent help.

Why dont you go in and change the date to a later date?

I’m international, and I will take the test on the last day available in my country (at least it said so on the website), not sure I can do that.

The Upper Level SSAT, as far as the mathematics section, really focuses on how much you know as per as the standard Algebra 1 curriculum. When I took the SSAT this past November, I recall that they were testing students on slopes, somewhat geometry, and algebraic skills (deriving from word problems to straight-forward equations). I can’t pinpoint as to what I can exactly help you with, but I would like to know where you took the practice test at, like online? If so, can you provide me with the link so that I can go over it. I got a perfect score on the math section, and I think that I might be of help if I can just see what they are testing in the Kaplan practice test.

It’s from a book, Kaplan SSAT & ISEE 2016, so I can’t link it to you, I’m afraid. But I have also taken this one: http://ssatprep.com/free-practice/ and got a slightly higher score (42 percentile).

My son used the Princeton book and also got a perfect score on the math. He also did some math practice problems downloaded off of Ivy Global.

Hmmm… Which Princeton Review book is best? On Amazon there are a couple of different ones…

This is 2017 edition but earlier year edition should work fine.

Each book has only 2-3 practice tests. If you want more practice, you can get all the books available (used copy or from library,) Barron’s, Kaplan, and Ivy global, etc, and just run through all the practice problems in your area of weakness.

The only way is to practice a lot.Do sample tests and check the answer keys. If you do sth wrong you should focus on it and do it again many days later. Focus on percent and word problems. So weird that an international student can’t do well in Math but do very well in Verbal. At first my Math was 98th, my verbal was 13th(!) and my reading is 24th. I’m international too!
