Need Urgent Help

These ranking are somewhat misleading anyway. Some of them factor in graduate studies and research which I believe are somewhat irrelevant for undergraduate studies. Opportunities for undergraduates to do research in these large institutes is somewhat limited than what people think. Those who do get a chance end up getting some “cleanup” jobs in labs and that too without any $.

Purdue is ranked high in this [world ranking](http://www.arwu.org/ARWUFIELD2009ENG.jsp) as well.

One university I would love to attend is Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL). That place has outstanding researchers in the field I am interested in.

um isnt it Urbana???, research my boy, research!!!

poseidon226, you should feel very previleged. The King has given Darshan to your chance-me and you have passed his ■■■■■ test with flying colours. Unlike so many noobs before, you did not evoke his wrath by stepping on his thread with a chance-me. My man (or woman), you are bound to go places.

hey indiansaudi
i know its urbana but somehow i alwayz tend to make that mistake
i think i have made that mistake in the essay too so am not really countin on urbana

“i think i have made that mistake in the essay too”

You’ve just hurt your chances of admission. :P

Actually, I’ve made a mistake in my Stanford app (CommonApp) too. I’ve written “discovered” instead of “invented” in one of the preliminary questions (something about a ‘moment in history’) in the Stanford Supplement. But that’s not in the essay, so I guess I’m just lucky! :P

@Tippu

Yeah, I’ve heard of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL).
That’s great. So what is your major?

I will not be entering college this year. Regarding major, my interests are in applied science/engineering.
