Need Your Advice! Science vs Business vs Sociology vs Journalism

I am confused picking between very different majors..can you help me decide? I will give you a few facts about each major and myself..

So the majors are
--Business/Marketing.
--Biology/Neuroscience/Health Science.
--Journalism/Communications
--Sociology (Bachelor of Social Sciences)

Science:

When I was a kid and a teenager (13-14 years old) i loved science (animals). We had a lot of books and magazines and encyclopaedias about animals. I loved birds especially. I knew almost everything about birds, probably more than many professional ornithologists. I was interested in birds for years, then at about 16 the interest almost disappeared.
-I DISLIKE Chemistry
-I DISLIKE Biochemistry even more.
-The word Microbiology/Cell Biology gives me a headache.
-I don't really like Anatomy/Physiology it's not as awful as Biochem but nothing exciting to me either.
-I am Not going to medical school
-I really Love Psychology and Neuropsychology though. But I like reading books about these subjects and Not counselling people..
This made me consider

Business/Marketing.

-From what I know it's almost like applied psychology! (+)
-The job prospects also seem pretty good.
-It involves looks like it involves math, which I can do but not too excited about..
-I hope most of the jobs won't be in sales as I don't want to do sales.
-It also seems easier to find a job after undergraduate business degree than science degree. Am i correct?
-I hope it does not involve too much routine work, as I absolutely can't stand routine work!

Sociology

-I always liked the types of disciplines that deal with "text" vs numbers or formulas or strict facts.
-I once did an outstanding job in a serious sociology contest because i loved getting ready for it..
-It seems like an interesting degree overall..
-But will I be able to get any decent job after I do an undergraduate degree or is doing masters/PhD the only option in order to get any kind of money with a sociology degree?

Journalism/Communications

-I am definitely NOt the kind of person who will run with a microphone after someone who is not even willing to talk to you.
-But I've always been good at writing
-I started writing fairy tales almost as soon as I learned to write and published a couple of them in magazines for children.
-In HS loved English class and got 98% on the exam.
-I like researching all the facts about a certain topic (no matter what topic) and then writing about it (my essays are always too long, but teachers never take off marks because they are very good quality, informative and well written. I always write more than I have to.)

It seems like I'm very good at writing, and also like "soft" sciences like sociology and psychology..
But what about

SALARY
--I want an undergraduate major which will get me a job that pays around 35-40K.
(I do plan to do Masters/PhD but want to be able to have a decent job with just the bachelor's)

JOB OPPORTUNITIES?
--Having only about 200 of relevant jobs across Canada won't do either. I want a degree with at least an average number of job openings..

ROUTINE
--I can't stand a job that revolves around routine (that's why my attempt at Nursing didn't work out).

And finally one last question: do you think an undergrad degree in Biology or Business has better job prospects?

Thank You!!

You are overgeneralizing all the majors you have pointed out.

Marketing and Business degrees are versatile. There are other business degrees out there: MIS, Accounting, Finance, International Business, Human Resource Management, etc. These courses don’t really require a lot of math, even Accounting. If you can do some algebra, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction you should be fine. The job prospects are good. I would say that MIS and Accounting are the most in demand.

Science degrees are good degrees too but can require additional schooling (medical school or masters programs). Neuroscience is an amazing field and can be awesome to pursue if you change your mind and want to go through medical school. Respiratory care is a great field too but can be as challenging as medical school at an undergraduate level. Anything health related has lots of jobs available and generally pay well.

Sociology is not a bad degree, however additional schooling will be required to land any really good jobs. Otherwise, I am not familir with Sociology.

Communications is a versatile degree too and they are not all involved in chasing people with microphones. You can do Public Relations (this can sometimes be a business degree if it is a corporate public relations program).

It appears you have some soul searching to do though. Do not focus on what you once were interested in, focus on what you are interested in now. If you are okay with more schooling after undergraduate school then any of the what you described as “soft” sciences will be great for you. Business degrees outside of finance and accounting are not routine jobs and you will be doing various things all the time.
