My mom told me to retake SAT's for January for my fifth time because my reading is low...

I'm going to apply toward Chemical Engineering Section, and i'm interested in applying to Ivy League Colleges.

Is it true that CR score is more important than Writing?? AND Do you guys think i should take it again? (will colleges still see it?..still worth it?)

5th time is just too much. I personally wouldn’t

yea…that’s what i thoguht too, but then i read an article saying that the amount a student takes the SAT is not something colleges look at.

instead, it recommended students to take as many SATs to get their highest scores possible. …

=/ iono…

I think whatever article you read is not so correct…

A lot of college advisers I speak with heavily advise that you don’t take SATs more than 3 times. It doesn’t come off well, some reasons being that this is not an advantage that someone from a low-income family can have and the fact you are utilizing way too much time studying for the SAT instead of doing something more beneficial for yourself.

Most ivy leagues require that you send ALL scores, not allowing score choice, so they will see that you took it five times. This is a quote from UPenn about how they view standardized test scores:

I say don’t take it again. Your score is already good. Four times is already a lot, five times would just be over the top.

I agree with the post above. Five times would most likely reflect badly upon you, and considering that your score is already good, I don’t think taking that risk and stressing about the test another time would be wise.

If you think you can improve, then go for it!
