Okay, so I'm a high school freshman and I know it's a bit early to be thinking in depth about college, but I am. If you can give me advice on anything, or suggestions or anything that would be so helpful.

I ultimately want to go to Northwestern (I have legacy there), or Cornell or UPenn (Wharton).

Class Rank : (After first quarter) - 23/652

GPA (so far) - weighted 4.7

So far I"m in the following clubs:
Debate (Have already won many honors)
Mu Alpha Theta

Job : Have a job at the local supermarket (10 hours per week)

There is one problem. i have yet to start out with community service and volunteering because I don't know where or what to volunteer with that would impress colleges most. I don't want to do the ordinary volunteer at hospital kinda thing. SO I NEED HELP OR SUGGESTIONS FOR VOLUNTEER PLACES.

You should definitely do TONS of EC's and try to get some honors/awards down. Now that I'm applying and don't have very many honors/awards, I feel as if I'm at a disadvantage.

Did you think of working at an animal shelter?

thanks atroph the only hard part for me is going to be getting the hnors and awawrds because my school doent really offer programs or competitions where I can get awards. My school rarely sends grads to ivies. So I'm at a disadvantge.

Yeaa I Know but just looking at all these threads and these outgrageous applications and their EC's are like ridiculous I feel like I have to start now to even be close to that level.

I miss my freshman year, and when you're a senior, you should miss it too! Nobody wants to tell their kids about their childhood with nothing to say except volunteering stories.

I've seen it happen again and again - if you do it just for the application, you'll burn out before long.
