any colleges give needblind admission???

Williams + Vanderbilt

To my knowledge, no public universities reject students because students have high financial need. However, many public universities do not have the money available to provide lavish amounts of financial aid.

Thus, the public universities may accept very needy students with the stats to get in, but the students may not obtain the financial aid to go to the colleges.

When it comes to private colleges, the need-blind colleges tend to be colleges that are some of the highest ranked, and most difficult to gain acceptance to in the country. Some, but not all of those colleges, guarantee to meet the documented financial need of all students who are accepted.

Do realize, though, that the college's idea of what you need may not be what your family feels they can afford. Financial aid also typically consists of grants (which don't need to be paid back), loans and work study. Some colleges offer students $20,000 a year in loans, and that's at least four times more than most students could comfortably pay back after graduation.

Bottom line: Make sure that when you apply to college, you apply to some colleges where you're sure you can get in and where you're sure you can afford. Typically those are public universities within commuting distance.
