Needed: Affirmative Action for Boys

Schools claim that evening out the sex ratio by admitting more boys will lower standards. But they need to do that to maintain their attractiveness to both sexes - if only USNews will cut them some slack in the ratings game.

<p>Most schools are within 45%-55% ratio. Considering the slightly more women in America, that factor is also lessened. Realistically, are your choices going to change dramatically if their is an average of one more male in each of you classes.</p>

<p>Unlike the large disparity with minority races, men still retain an advantage even with lessened numbers.</p>

<p>What can be a factor, however, are the many schools where there are twice as many women as men. This influences men to attend for the wrong reason, and also creates an imbalance.</p>
