So, I am sure that I want to be a math major in college - many colleges, however, do not offer majors in actuarial sciences. Because of that, I want to major in math with a minor in actuarial sciences. But, I would like to pursue a double major, and I think a business major would be best to pursue with a minor in actuarial sciences.

Which business major do you think would be best? My brother was a double major in accounting and finance and says that accounting is a degree that can be more widely applied after graduation. The more I read into the actuarial science minor, however, the more I see people pursuing finance majors. Which major do you think is best - accounting or finance...or something else..?

I have, and will be applying to the few which actually do interest me and are feasible colleges for me to attend. I wasn’t asking to look for a college with an actuarial science major, however, I wanted to know which double major would be best…my focus on this post wasn’t to ask about the actuarial sciences side of my future education, but rather the secondary major, which would be complementing my major in actuarial sciences or major in mathematics and minor in actuarial sciences…

Accounting. This opens you up for consultancy opportunities in accounting firms so I agree I with your brother. Accounting majors can do virtually anything a finance major can do.

And major in act sci in the business department (which is why I asked a simple question) so you don’t have to meet both the academic requirements of the business school and the college of arts and sciences as a math major.
