Needs Transferring Advice

Hey - I am a first year at a four year private college and I hate it. I have been here for two weeks and I just don't feel like I fit it. The school is really expensive and people seem to be flaunting their money around. I just really hate it.

I am interesting in transferring to a different college in january and I was wondering when a good time to start applying to transfer would be? And is it difficult being a transfer student?

THANKS!

Hey I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I've been at school for about two weeks as well and I just don't like it here at all. I'm going to give it some more time though, probably till October, to see if I change my mind at all. I think by that time if I still hate it here then I'll start sending them out by mid-October, so yeah, probably mid-October to November would be a good time. But I'm not positive, could someone confirm that?

If you want to start at a new school in janurary, I would definitely start applying as soon as possible. I'm no expert on the subject, but waiting until november to send out applications for spring 09 would NOT be a good idea.

I guess November would be a little late to apply, but I still think waiting until October would be better. If you were to send in application after only a few weeks of school then the school you're trying to transfer to would maybe think that you're not really willing to give a school a chance and would transfer out of their school as quickly as you did the one you're currently at. But I don't know, maybe that's just splitting hairs.

ok thanks. yeah its been over a week since this post and i feel the same way.

I'll start looking and applying..
