Negotiating Financial Aid

I got into a school that I LOVE, the University of Puget Sound, but as it is right now I can't afford to go there, I'm coming up 11,000 short. I have excellent test scores and I've been accepted into their music program, is there anyway I can negotiate with them? What are your suggestions for negotiating for financial aid?

For anywhere close to $11K? Highly unlikely.

There may be specific leverage in a music performance major. There may not be any. It depends on level of talent, how the package you’ve already gotten is defined (merit/talent/need based), and how much they want you.

A couple of music specific threads on the topic from the music major forum:

And a general music scholarship thread, with discussion and experience of some with music admits: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/458851-music-scholarships-fall-2008-2009-a.html</a> (from post #52)
