"Negotiating"

Has anyone had any experience "negotiating" with Rollins over their financial aid/scholarship package. My S is really in love with the school but they just didn't give us enough for him to be able to attend. Is there any chance they may give us more if we ask?

My son is currently a junior at Rollins and he loves it. We had the same issue and we called and discussed his other admission and merit offers but that her really wanted to go to Rollins but it was much more costly. They said they would review his admission and get back to us. About an hour later we were called back and they raised his merit aid from $18,000 per year to $22,000 per year. It can’t hurt to ask. Good luck.

That’s good to know. Who did you speak to? His admissions counselor? Also, did you call or did your son make the call himself?

Didn’t your son attend the Alfond weekend? If so, did he win a scholarship? If not, did they enhance the Dean’s scholarship just for being invited?

He did attend the weekend but did not get the scholarship. They did not enhance the original scholarship he was offered.

I think your in great shape to get a little more money. Good luck. My D has decided that Rollins is too small for her. Too bad…I loved it!

My D also decided the school was too small after attending an Accepted Student’s Reception in our city this past Sunday. She received a Presidential Scholarship, so they will have more $$$ in the pot after she declines her acceptance. Good luck!

jrmama496, sorry gone so long. Admissions is who we called and it was me (the one spending the money) that called. Good luck
