Hey guys! I’m trying to create a forum for students that are going to attend neomed this summer! please post the undergrad school you will be attending too! By the way, I got accepted Into neomed for regular decision. I got all 3 interviews and ranked Akron #1, ysu as #2 and Kent as #3. I got my acceptance from ysu and am on the alternate list for Akron. Do any of you know if it’s possible for getting off the alternate list before May 1st? I’m just thankful that I got into the program but am still hoping and praying to get into Akron! Thanks guys
Hey guys! Will also be attending neomed in the fall! I will be going to Akron! Eager to meet and greet my fellow classmates!
@ soccerchic2015 - Congratulations! I would be applying next year. Can you share some experiences, tips, credentials? I am in Ohio.

Yes definitely! I would definitely recommend any sort of hospital volunteering. If possible do some research/lab work. I did some at neomed itself. Also, do some shadowing! I got a 33 ACT and about a 4.3 GPA. I will be graduating with 9 AP classes. Honestly I feel like grades and your app get you the interview, but once you get an interview, the interview plays the major role of acceptance or rejection! So maybe try expanding on speaking skills, I know speech and debate definitely helped with on the spot interrogation! Hopefully this helps! Good luck next year

@ Soccerchic2015 - I currently have a cum GPA of 3.67, still taking AP (Calc, Bio, Psych, English). I have an ACT = 30 with writing of 9, have shadowed doctors in US and Internationally. Have been volunteering at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Worked with Breast Cancer Society campaigns, Pelotonia Campaigns. I plan on taking another ACT in June. Wondering about my chances. I see the university has published their 2014 Selection Profile. So I am wondering now, if it would be a good idea to give NEOMED a shot? Or if I just don’t have the chances. I have not had much luck at Research lab so far…
@ Soccerchic2015 - Thank you very much !! Your comments were helpful !
You seem to be very involved in medical related activities which is good. Definitely try to increase your ACT score because I know over the years competition is getting tougher. I know this year, people with a 30 ACT (despite being in state) didn’t get an interview for early action but idk about regular decision! And also, it might be other factors as well… And see if you can increase your GPA as well! I think that 2014 entry profile will give you the best information… And remember that info is mostly from in state so if I were you I would be prepared to have scores well beyond those given in the entry profile! Look at the 2015 entry profile when that gets out too because you’ll be able to see how getting into NEOMED is not as easy now as it was like 5 years ago! Hope this helps! @dreamed
@soocerchic2015 - Thank you. I am hoping to increase my ACT scores. Do you know around what month / time the new profiles (as in 2015) are released?
@dreamed I’m sorry, I do not know when they release that! I would assume checking around June and after would be the best time
@ soccerchic2015 - Thank you! Good Luck to you !!
@ soccerchic2015 - I visited the NEOMED - Medicine College campus last week. Can you give any tips on the interview questions (ethical, real life experiences, current Health Care topics etc) ?
@Soccerchic2015 Can u share some of the information you presented in your resume to NEOMED. I ideally want to make it into Akron’s B.S./M.D. Program with a GPA of 3.7 and ACT of 30
