NEOUCOM B.S./M.D. program

hey i applied to the 6 year program at NEOUCOM and received my acceptance letter. I was wondering who else was accepted and what undergrad college did you pick??

congrats! my app was deferred, but i’m out of state and not sure if i really want to go there anyway. even if i get in, i’d rather choose the traditional path, only because all the residencies people get after med school in NEOUCOM are local ohio hospitals. its a really good program, still, since it gives a helluva lot of scholarship (i think kent state offered me like 50,000 or something).

I got into YSU

Spartanbananas, which did you get into?

I got into YSU as well :)

Hey when did u guys apply was this like octo. 1st deadline? and did u guys go through interviews?

Yep I did early action. I had interviews at youngstown state, kent state, and the medical school

oh…good job! hey do they offer scholarships…and how many people enter the program in all three schools?

Yup they give scholarships! $2500+ at least, i think…

Ummm I think there’s like 110 or so total…with 35-40 at either Youngstown, Kent, or Akron

I was accepted as well through YSU, had interviews at all 3 schools+NEOUCOM. The NEOUCOM interview was new this year I heard. And scholarship money is a bit less at most of the schools, for instance I’m only getting $4500 from YSU for having a 4.0 currently. BS/MD students unfortunately aren’t eligible for the Cochran full ride scholarship.

Hey wat r the interview questions they give? and wat r they?

oh and how many of the 35-40 come from early decision and of the 110 how many are early decision

in my words…early decision= those who apply to the program for the oct. 1 deadline

They ask you stuff like:

“Tell me about yourself.” (be prepared to rant a bit)
“Why do you want to become a doctor?”
“Why is the 6 year track better than the traditional route for you?”

Well, those are the main ones. Do some research about NEOUCOM and some general medical issues. Just to be safe. (They love their five C’s.)

I think they try and fill 75% of the class during early action? I have no idea.

Thanks…i should prepare

oh… Early action oh!!! that makes so much more sense!
