It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at Neoucom?

be genuine.
im sure they get a lot of people who's parents are doctors and aren't really passionate about helping people and just want to go to a school thats difficult to get into and want to make a lot of money.

D. went to all three on one weekend in 2006. She was out in about 10 min. Said nothing was special. She mentioned that she did not care much for the one at Youngstown, that took longer. She got accepted to her first choice - Kent, but choose a different bs/md program. She went to a lot of other interviews for other programs, some very long, taking most day with lunch included. Her comment -the most important is to be yourself, never lie, be friendly, open. If you do not know something say so. Believe it or not, on interview to the program that she is now, they asked her question that included a common word that she did not know the meanning. She asked them what the word meant. I almost flipped when she mentioned that. But thinking about it, it showed open, positive attitude / personality which was more important than any kind of knowledge. That interview was actually at Medical School. NEOUCOM interviews are at each UG college. Do not worry, it will fine.

MiamiDAP,
My daughter will have the interview only with Youngstown on Sun. Dec/7/08 at 3:15PM.

She and her dad will arrive at 8:00PM at Cleveland airport and plan to stay at the hotel near Cleveland airport on Sat. Dec/6/08 night. Then, they will drive to Youngstown for her interview next day.
In order to plan the trip accordingly (We live in San Jose, CA where there is no snow at all)
, we have the following questions

1) What is weather in Cleveland and Youngstown in the first week of Dec?
2) Is it the good idea to stay in Cleveland on Sat and drive to Youngstown On Sun for the interview?
Or stay in Youngstown on Sat night to reduce the stress of driving? If my husband chooses this option, he has to drive at night from Cleveland to Youngstown. We concern about this part because he never drives in snow before.
3) Off topic question. I have read your posts and knew about your daughter stats. So, What is my daughter chance for: NEOUCOM with Youngstown, Case, U of Toledo program, U of Cicinnati DAP program, Ohio State.

Her stats

GPA = 4.0 (UW); 4.56 (W)
ACT = 35
SAT1 = 2280
SAT2: Math-2C = 800; Bio = 690
NMSF => 99% will be Finalist
Residency: CA
EC's:
Clubs
Medical Research
Lots of volunteering hours in Med

Inguye02,
I am not very familiar with Cleveland area, but I myself hate to drive in snow, and Cleveland tends to have much more of it than some other Ohio areas. Of course, you can get lucky.
I believe, that your D. stats are awesome. However, you are not in-state. My D. got into NEOUCOM, DAP (at Miami, rejected from Cinci, good that she applied to both), and Toledo, rejected from Case. Both rejections were before interview. I would be very surprised if your D would not get into all that my D got. As far as NEOUCOM, they allocate only few spots for OOS, but I believe that your D has a good chance because of her superior stats. As you can tell, my D. is at Miami in DAP and very happy with her choice because it allows her to have normal college experience and to be with general student body, and any choice of UG major is OK. The reason that she did not choose Toledo is because she did not want to stay at home. PM me if you have more questions. The best of luck.

No i'm just saying that sometimes people only want to be doctors because their parents are doctors and they make money and etc...
I dont really know anything but I have a feeling that they get some people who don't really have the real motivation to do what being a doctor requires. more than money and a family history.

Although i think I remember reading somewhere it helps if your parents are at the top of their field...
