nepali thread.

Btw, Sweta, maybe your friends are grossly mistaken, i checked up on Berea. College board says it costs 26 grand ( comprehensive cost ; fall 05 figure) Would really recommend your friends checking up on it. And,the college aint that easy to get into either...27%.

i haven't exactly looked into OWU... :)

Berea gives every student full tuition scholarship if i'm not mistaken

OWU:

Total international students: 182 (9% of student body)
International undergraduates receiving such aid in 2004-2005 academic year: 180

looks promising... don't know wut the average aid is though

Turns out i have the brochure to Berea as well. The cost is indeed 26 grand..and yea, another suprise suprise...International enrollemnt is limited to 25 new students each fall....damn, sure wish it was a free ride like you thought though

good work STATO, i mean "aaron"

yea Berea does give full aid to all its students but as i have said before, it isnt so generous to Int. Students.

Number of enrolled international undergraduates received aid: 110

Total amount awarded : $2,952,000

this is frm collegeboard... if u do the math, avg aid comes to around $26,836.. isn't tht more than the tuition already?

khoi, maybe they have stipends to go party!

elaborate...

isn't full aid generous enough?

lol....i wish evry college had that...give money to go and partay..12 years of studies...made me what do u call...feel nerdish...

berea's got excellent aid...i mean they give 100% aid to all thjose international students who apply for aid...tooo bad they don't have engineering....

high aid...low SAT scores..low accepted rate...definitely they donot give a damn abt SAT...they must be looking for academics or ECs...

hey...found something abt....HARVARD...might ineterest some of u...

"sats arn't that important. this guy got into harvard last year with a 520 verbal and a B average. But his service to the community + leadership skills were really great (he volunteeerd in 3rd world countries for 3 months and all these other things)."

with Berea, the reason behind the low acceptance rate might be sth different.... when the tuition is free, lots of ppl obviously apply. higher the number of applicants, the lower the acceptance rate. it's not a "top" college so ppl with high SATs can afford to apply to the top ones and still get aid. this explains the low SAT scores and high acceptance rate i hope. but it's just what i think..

nice thought aaron...impressive...i think i agree with ur point of view...but does thatmean somoone with good SAT scores will definitely get into BEREA...

smartmind....what skl in kolkata do u go to.... la martinere?? st. xaviers ??

there's no such thing as 'definitely' when it comes to admissions i think..
good SAT scores increase your chances, and coupled with great ec's and grades, you'll most probably get in. but i won't pretend to know how Berea selects its freshmen class...

but good SAT scores will never hurt your chances.. :)

that goes for all colleges man...good SAT,grades and ECS...u can get into any ivy...

hehe yea.... :D

just tht luck factors more into ivy admissions
