nepali thread.

...........khaula piula!!!!!

kaha bata lyaula (trans: where from bring? :D)

this is goin to be the most hectic dasain ever! sat IIs, college apps, finals.... !!!

how are you mailing ur apps? u aren't using dhl, fedex for everything are u? tht could be costly! what's a reliable alternative?

hey aaron u from nepal?

ohh damnn it ma ta chhutai padera basumla. :nerd: :D:

there's always the regular mail but it isnt reliable at all as we all know.

why not register and mail it for the RDs...for the EDs i would suggest the safest alternative...DHL or something...wehave wasted a lot of money in the high school and school already...a couple of thusands more..i think..it's no big deal...

can't agree more..this is going to be a hectic dashai ever...tika laune din we have got chemistry practical right in the early morning (8am)...damn!...need practice to wake up so early...

ppl.... there is no use using registered mail...trust me.... send simple mail...will elaborate later....

simple mail...well..don't think that's so safe...registered mail..well..doesn't cot much..15 rs or 25 rs i think??

hey...people help me out here..a bit confused...what's a rolling ED??

God...this thread is growing at a rapid speed...

yea, what are "rolling" decissions

rolling decisions:

as soon as they receive ur app, they'll process it and give you their decision as they make it, no waitin for any deadline... takes two to three weeks i think if you apply early. and the earlier u apply, the better your chances at aid, as well as a seat of course.

rolling 'ed' same thing: just tht the decision is binding. no fixed 'ed' decision date.

and prashant: ma nepali nai ho! :)

nice, but the only thing colleges seem to do is "roll" into my dreams and then "roll" out of my reality

u can't say tht yet! come april u'll find out which ones will roll out and which ones will roll you in... :D... if u're lucky, u'll be rolled in by december and you can rejoice the rest of the year in pulp! lol. don't worry if u can't make sense.. it isn't s'posed to :)

yea well, u know whr i'm applying, most probbaly, they gonna "roll" me out
: )

let me brief u guys with the mail stuff....when i sent in my paper stuff.. registered mail was Rs. 43 for the small envelope... but around in may-june 2005... they almost doubled the costs..... and let me tell u that regular mail is as safe as registered thing... the only difference is that they enter the records for ur documents as they reach different places in between... which only takes more time.... i sent in all my stuff by regular mail... everything reached fine... the only advantage of registering is that u can submit an inquiry if ur documents get lost... but that can be done only after one month (or 3 months.. not sure abt this) after u post the thing.... and i dont think anyone is post app stuff one month bfor the deadline.....remember that almost all deadlines that they have on apps are postmark deadlines.... and they do consider the irregularily of international mail.... but not if ur document reaches 30 days later...

our postal system sucks so u need to check with your college ever so often as to what materials they have received and what they have sent that you should have received. I hear there is not much difference between registered and normal mail, but i preferred the former anyways, specially coz the cost difference was so insignificant.

it was not much when we sent our apps....but now it has become really significant i guess....they increased the costs when u were in brtngr and PG was sending stuff to college.....maybe costs have changed again.... i dont know abt that... but when I left Nepal... the costs for registered mail was far more than the normal thing...

I did critical reading from kaplan yesterday, ani results:
in the 1st teast I got 'bout 53 correct
in the 2nd 45
and it decreases each time.

and the moral is when i'm kinda fresh i get gr8 scores but in the almost 4 hr long exam how can I remain freah k. within an hour all of my energy will be flowing in wind ahai.

CAn "take the bana with you" instruction really hel?

*oops! bana=banana
