nepali thread.

they seem to accept a low number of finaid seeking intl students.

the total no. of undergrads aided is 40 while there are 122 intl undergrads at lehigh. this is data from 2004-2005 though. dunno about the no. of freshmen aided specifically.

don't want to discourage you or anything... just thought you might like to know.

ya...the numbers of international students aided in lehigh's like real less...but the average aid ain't that bad...and i guess..i got a good college package...so i might just get in or get deferred..lol....anywayz...there's always hope...FAITH!!!!

well, good luck ....

it's just that when colleges aid only a limited no. of applicants, they like to wait until the regular round to see if they can attract better applicants with attractive aid packages. so if u're outstanding, no prob, otherwise u'll probably be deferred.

but u say u've a great package. so u'll probably be fine! :)

well...thank you...aaron56....and thanks for all the help...u 2 smartmind...opening this thread was a brilliant idea...good job once again sweta...and yeah get well soon....

collegewoes, you going through the same dillema im going thru..i wanna do wash U, but they have low average aid...i dont wanna waste my ED 1 either, but then again, if i drop my college standard and get into smth of lower grade, i think i might always have that thing in the back of my head taht i JUST MAYBE HAD A CHANCE OF GETTING IN....ppl say in teh end u just gotta be happy wherever u are, which is true, but then u cant ignore ur dream college..but then who knows, i'm jus gonna apply with lotsa HOPE...and yea, btw, lehigh was a consideration for Ed for me as well..but, i dont think its sucha good idea, coz ive hard from a few ppl that they dont encourage intl. students..anywy write to em asking if they have any such policies..ask all ur questions...and yea, share it with us as well if ya get info.

Jai Nepal!

U Penn is a good skl for u hmlyndrms.....(u have a long nick...sorry abt that)

himalayandreams,
I can understand what u must be going through. but as i have said repeatedly, college application is as much about luck as ability, if not more. the stats, although a reflection, donot really mean much as the average aid does not really reflect the true picture. lehigh and wusl are great colls but seem to be hesitant in giving money to intl students. but again, if ur app is great u might be the one that gets in with aid!
bottomline...whatever whoever says means little. US colleges are idiosyncratic and it all depends on ur ability and LUCK and the adcom's mood. dont freak out too much, research as much as possible, work hard on ur app, then hope for the best.
good luck.
