HELP! I'm looking to join a sorority, but I have a few problems. I'm not the stereotypical blonde partier. In fact, I don't like to drink too much at all. However, I do want to make the lasting friendships that come with joining a sisterhood and I do want to participate in making whatever university I attend the best it can be. Are there any sororities that fit what I'm looking for? Obviously I'll want to party it up in college, but I also want to focus primarily on my grades. Thanks in advance :))

Choose your college first, then choose your sorority. Once you decide on your school, then look up that school’s panhellenic association to learn about how recruitment works and which sororities are options.
You do not have to be blonde, or a partier, or anything different than the person you already are to be happy in a sorority. This is true of going through sorority recruitment, of finding friends in your dorm and of settling in to your new life as a college student.

I agree with the post above. Find the best college for you first and then worry about joining a sorority. Most of the schools my D looked at had a sophomore rush anyway so in those cases, you can’t join as a freshman. Many colleges have sorority or two which really emphasize community service work so maybe look for one of those once you are settled in a school.
